How to create a google ads account

Creating a Google Ads account is a straightforward process that allows you to start advertising your business on Google’s network. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create a new Google Ads account:

1. Get Started

  • Go to the Google Ads homepage: ads.google.com.
  • Click the “Start now” or “Sign up” button.
  • You’ll be prompted to sign in with an existing Google account (like your Gmail). If you don’t have one, you’ll need to create one.

2. Enter Your Business Information

  • Google will ask for your business name and website URL. Providing this information helps Google pre-fill content and tailor recommendations for your ads.
  • You may also be given the option to link existing accounts, such as your Google Business Profile or YouTube channel.

3. Choose Your Advertising Goal (Switch to Expert Mode)

  • Google Ads often starts with a “Smart Campaign” setup, which is a simplified, automated process. However, to have full control over your campaigns, it’s highly recommended to switch to Expert Mode.
  • Look for a link at the bottom of the page that says something like “Switch to Expert Mode” or “Create an account without a campaign.” This is the best way to get full access to all the features and settings.

4. Create Your Account (Without a Campaign)

The final step in this process is to enter your billing information. You’ll need to provide a valid payment method, even if you don’t plan to run ads immediately. Your ads won’t go live until you’ve completed this step.

Even if you’re not ready to create a campaign, you’ll still need to provide some basic information to finalize the account setup.

You’ll be asked to confirm your country, time zone, and currency. Choose these carefully, as they cannot be changed later.
